You may have heard of the ‘vampire facial’, well this is PRP used as an anti-ageing treatment.
It is highly effective for improving overall skin health and also a variety of skin concerns, including scars, lines, and stretch marks.
What should I expect from a PRP treatment?
PRP is a mildly invasive procedure that involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient and injecting a platelet-rich version back into the area being treated, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
The platelets are concentrated from the blood being spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells and the platelets. Platelets are key factors in hard and soft tissue repair mechanisms, they provide essential growth factors which are involved in stem cell migration differentiation and proliferation. They also stimulate fibroblasts which are the repair mechanisms to heal and restore.
We recommend around three treatments for the face and six for hair restoration. The results in both cases are long-lasting but we do recommend a top-up treatment at least once a year to maintain results.
